12th ANNUAL LADIES PRO-AM

2015 EWGA CHAMPION'S CUP

The EWGA Cup is the EWGA's Team Match Play Championship. The competition comprises of two stages of play:

1. Regional Cup Qualifier

18 holes of Four Ball* and 18 holes of Singles** played over 2 days to determine the teams that will advance to the Cup Finals. The Southern Region EWGA Cup Qualifier will be held in our home town at Tiburon Golf Club on September 19-20, 2015.

 2. National Championship - The Cup Final

18 holes of Four Ball* and 18 holes of Singles** played over 2 days to determine the Champion. The Cup Final will be held at Reunion Resort, Kissimmee, FL on November 13-14, 2015.

*Four Ball Match Play - A match in which 2 players (a side) play their better ball against the better ball of 2 other players (the opposing side). All players play their own ball. The lower net score of the 2 players is the team score on the hole.

**Singles Match Play - A match in which one player plays against another player. Scoring is determined by a hole-by-hole competition.

Team Formation

Teams consist of 8 members, and Chapters may field multiple teams. However, each Regional Qualifier is limited to 16 teams, and team entries are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until the Qualifier field is full. Team entries will be confirmed in the order of receipt of full payment of all team members. The entry cost per member has not yet been set by EWGA HQ, but previous years have been $225 - $250.

Because of the limit on number of teams in a Regional Qualifier, to ensure a team spot(s), team formation and entry will need to be made as soon as registration begins. Last year registration began on April 1.

If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Liz Rees

lizrees1@comcast.net

, 239-269-0620) on or before March 14.

MEMBER SERVICES

Joining and Renewing Online

Many of you have your memberships coming up for renewal soon.  We have so many fun events scheduled in the coming months and I don’t want you to miss out!  Every member due to renew January through June should have already received an at least one email to remind them to renew online.  Those due January to April have also been sent a renewal form by mail.  You can submit your renewals by fax or email, but we encourage you to renew online.  Please note that when you renew online you will see an “invoice” on your record dated November 2014.  Don’t let this confuse you.  When you make your renewal payment, it will move your expiration date forward one full year to 2016.  If you don’t renew by your expiration date you are considered a lapsed member.  However you can still go online and renew without penalty.  If you want to add a second Chapter (a dual membership) to your record, you need to send an email to member@myewga.com or call the toll free number at 800-407-1477 ext.10. The fee is $35.00.   If you have any questions regarding renewing your membership, please contact me and I will be happy to assist you.

Southwest Florida Chapter Championship

Mark your calendars and make sure you don't miss out on playing in our Chapter Championship this year, to be held at one of our favorite courses, The Quarry on May 17, 2015.

The national EWGA Championship is the world's largest female amateur golf tournament.  Prizes for gross and net winners will be awarded for each flight and the overall Chapter Champion and Scramble Team, all of which are invited to move on to the Regionals and then hopefully on to Nationals.  You will be flighted based on your handicap so you will be playing with players with the same handicap.  Also, you can make up a scramble team if you would prefer to do that instead of playing individually.

This is great opportunity to play a great course with some competition and to have some fun with other members of the chapter.  If you sign up there will be a rules meeting before the event that you will be invited to with discussions on the rules so you will be more comfortable.

Remember to post all your scores.  You MUST have 5 18 hole scores posted between the time period of January 1, 2015 to May 1, 2015 in order to be eligible to play (no exceptions!).

Watch the BLAST and web site for more information as we get closer (registration will open around March 1st).

MEMBER RECRUITMENT

2015 Member Recruitment Campaign

"Get Engaged"

memberservices

The 2015 campaign is already underway! As always on January 1 each year, we begin tracking names of members who recruit new members in our Chapter.

This year, headquarters are going to have several member campaigns throughout the year, with prizes awarded at the end of each, to keep everyone incentivized and 'engaged.'

The first campaign will run from January 1 through May 31 with prizes sent to top recruiters in June. There will be fun, shiny, bling prizes for everyone who recruits 4 or more new members during the "Get Engaged" membership campaign, and the list of participating recruiters will be posted at the end of each month in the Leader Resource Library.

You have a  chance to win some EWGA bling!
