Welcome to the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association. We formed the chapter in 1999 with ladies primarily in the Naples area. We recently changed our name from the Naples Chapter to the Southwest Florida Chapter, and our members stretch all the way from Marco Island to Naples to Ft. Myers and beyond to Cape Coral.

Chapter Buddies--Volunteers wanted!

Sue Mandry  sjman1007@gmail.com and Audrey Bashaw abashaw@newsbank.com of the Member Services Committee have recently established a "Chapter Buddies" Program.  All new members, regardless of their golf abilities, will be matched with an existing member who they can contact if they have questions about the Chapter, upcoming events, how to register, etc.  This way every member will feel "connected" to our chapter from day one! But this will only work if our existing members agree to be a "buddy" to one new member.

All that is required is that you be available, either by phone or email, to welcome the new member to the Chapter and answer any questions the new member may have about the Chapter, such as "how do I register for an event?", "What is this event all about?" or "Do you know of any good courses in the area?", etc.  You can offer to meet the new member at the next event and introduce to a few other members, or if you want, you can offer to partner with her at her first event, but this is not required.  Many of us came to SWFL EWGA as a new member who knew few or no existing members and what it was like to attend our first event, so please volunteer.

If you have questions or need more information about these programs, please contact Sue or Audrey.  If would like to volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sue Shaeffer atgolfer4162@gmail.com. We were all new to the game and Chapter at some point, so please "pay it forward" and volunteer!
